Wales is the land of song and poetry and no visit to the Principality would be complete without an opportunity to experience the sounds of Wales.
Merlyn Theatre Company, formed in 1989 by Pat Hughes, is a group of actors and musicians from South Wales who delight in performing the words and music of our best-loved writers.
The Company includes harpists, singers, dancers and actors whose performances of extracts from Under Milk Wood and Anglo-Welsh poetry have won them international acclaim.
Merlyn is used by the Wales Tourist Board and the British Tourist Authority to show the world the music, humour and fun that is to be found in Wales, and members of the company regularly perform in Chicago, Toronto, New York and Washington.
Merlyn's entertainment is lively and fun, and the music performed is traditionally Welsh ranging from accompanied and unaccompanied folk songs and ballads to the more boisterous group songs where there will
be an opportunity for the audience to join in the chorus. The poetry and words of Dylan Thomas will bring a chuckle and also a tear to the eye.
